CodeAgentSwarm alternatives
TL;DR
CodeAgentSwarm (codeagentswarm.com, built by Arturo García, who posts as Art0xDev) is a desktop app that runs agent CLIs side by side and supervises them from one window. It supports Claude Code, Codex, Antigravity CLI, OpenCode, Kimi Code, Grok Build, Cursor Agent, Muse Code, Pi and Devin CLI. Each session reads as a chat or as the raw terminal, and agents work from a Kanban board they can update.
People look elsewhere for three reasons: you need a CodeAgentSwarm account, Pro is free only while the open beta lasts (about €6.99 a month is the listed price after), and the app's code isn't public.
Pane covers the same many-CLIs-at-once job with no sign-in and an AGPL-3.0 license. Each agent gets a worktree (its own copy of your repo, on its own branch) by default, and a lead-agent Session can split a goal across them, much like a coordinator. It runs on macOS, Windows, WSL (Linux inside Windows) and Linux.
the alternatives
Each pick keeps the part of CodeAgentSwarm you'd miss most (many CLIs, a board, coordinators) and drops the account. The chips show where each one runs: green is native, amber has a catch, red is no.
1.Pane
Best for open source, no account, a worktree for every agent.
Claude Code and Codex are one-click presets; Kimi Code, Grok Build, Pi and the rest run as saved custom commands. Tabs show blocked, working, done or idle at a glance. Free, AGPL-3.0, no account.
WindowsWSLmacOSLinux
Best for a board of agents, if CodeAgentSwarm's Kanban is what you'd miss.
Its board updates itself as agents work, and when CI fails or a reviewer comments, it sends that back to the agent that wrote the code. Apache-2.0. It won't run agents inside WSL.
WindowsWSLmacOSLinux
3.Orca
Best for a long agent list, with WSL and phone apps.
If ten CLIs isn't enough, Orca lists about 40, each in a real terminal, plus SSH hosts and an iOS app. MIT, and it runs agents inside WSL.
WindowsWSLmacOSLinux
4.Paseo
Best for agents that hand work to each other, with no account.
Agents can delegate to one another, so it's the nearest thing to CodeAgentSwarm's coordinators. It runs in the background and you reach it from desktop, phone, web or a CLI. Apache-2.0, no account. In our October test, the Windows app couldn't run agents in a WSL repo.

which one should you pick?
stay with codeagentswarm if
- → you mix many agent CLIs and want to read each session as a chat or a terminal
- → you want agents to work from a Kanban board that starts queued tasks on its own
- → you want a coordinator agent that opens worker sessions, and a daily spend limit per provider
- → you're fine signing in, and Pro free during the beta suits you
pick pane if
- → you don't want to create an account
- → you want an open-source app with a settled price: free
- → you want each agent in its own worktree by default
- → you want documented support for repos inside WSL

why people look for a codeagentswarm alternative
An account, a beta price that will change, and closed source.
Its FAQ says to "Create a CodeAgentSwarm account and sign in to the agents you want to use", with Google, GitHub or Discord. "Every Pro feature is free during the beta", and the beta page shows "After Beta: €6.99/mo" struck through. The app has no public source; only the website's code is on GitHub.
Isolation is opt-in. Its own guide tells you to "Flip on Git Worktree per terminal", so agents share one checkout until you do. Platform support is broad: Mac, Windows and, since 2.4.1 on September 28, 2026, Linux .deb and AppImage builds. We found no public reviews or complaints about the app.
moving from codeagentswarm to pane
Your CLIs and their logins carry over. A CodeAgentSwarm terminal maps to a pane, Pane's word for one task with its own branch.
Add the repo once, then make one pane for each job you'd have given a CodeAgentSwarm terminal. Save Kimi Code, Grok Build or Pi as custom commands so they launch like the built-in Claude Code and Codex presets (Cursor is a preset on Mac, Linux and WSL, not native Windows yet).
For the coordinator habit, open a Session, Pane's lead-agent chat, and describe the goal; it creates and steers the panes. You review each one's diff in the Changes panel and commit with Ctrl/⌘+Shift+K. Worktrees CodeAgentSwarm created are ordinary git worktrees, so git worktree list finds them.
our verdict
CodeAgentSwarm is a feature-rich supervisor for many agent CLIs, with a chat view, a self-starting board and coordinators. If you want no account, open source, a settled price, or documented WSL support, Pane is the most direct alternative. For a board of agents that feeds CI back, Agent Orchestrator. For a long agent list with phone apps, Orca. For agents that hand work to each other with no account, Paseo.
how we checked
Desk research on November 5, 2026. The live site blocked automated reads, so we read its English copy, llms.txt, About page and guides from the site's public source repo, plus the vendor's public release feed. We didn't install it for this page.
Facts about Agent Orchestrator, Orca and Paseo come from our October 2026 research files; the Paseo WSL result is from our October test.
